Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy, also called low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive, painless, drug-free, and target-specific method of treatment. It operates under the principle of photobiomodulation, wherein external energy sets off a cascade of biochemical reactions. Like photosynthesis, energy is transferred into the production of ATP, the fuel source of cells. The mass production of ATP gives the body ample energy to do its work of healing itself. Cold laser utilizes a hand-held laser that penetrates the skin without damaging or even warming it.
At Utah Sports and Wellness, we use the Erchonia FX635 laser, the only FDA-approved laser approved for Musculo-skeletal pain, Low back pain, Plantar Fasciitis and Shoulder pain. Cold laser therapy is good for both acute and chronic pain.
