How many times do we hear of someone tearing an ACL or having their knee scoped? A number of factors contribute to why a knee is injured or why a person pulls a quad or hamstring. At Utah Sports and Wellness, we have the tools and techniques to do a functional assessment of the knee and leg after your injury or surgery but also BEFORE a problem occurs to help prevent an injury. When we treat the injured knee or leg, we also balance the body to prevent re-injury. Most hamstring, groin, and quad pulls can be avoided if your hips, knees, and feet are balanced which we do on each office visit. If you have injured your leg or thigh, then it’s important to come see us as soon as possible; preferably within 48 hours, to prevent too much adaptation to the injury. By re-balancing your body and using technology like the hyperbaric chamber (HBOT) with FSM Microcurrent, we can sometimes cut the healing process in half. We use these same therapies to hasten the healing process for things like ACL tears, scar tissue trauma, stress fractures or any post-surgical patient that wants an added edge to reduce their healing time.
We treat numerous kinds of leg and knee injuries – here’s a quick look at the most common types of injuries we see:
