What is Mild Hyperbarics (mHBOT)?
Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a way to safely and effectively increase oxygen uptake in the body by raising barometric pressure within a comfortable chamber. The chambers here at USW will reach a pressure of 1.3 ATA (atmospheric pressures), which is 30% greater than normal.
When you combine that kind of pressure with 4.24 PSI of oxygen delivered through an oxygen mask, the inhaled oxygen can be more easily absorbed into blood stream and can travel to areas of the body that under normal circumstances would harder to get to.
Oxygen is essential to normal body functionality, but when pure oxygen is delivered inside a hyperbaric chamber, it is better able to saturate cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, blood plasma and lymph.
